Abstract:

Background & Objective: The purpose of study, was to investigate the effect of 8weeks incremental aerobic training with zinc supplementation on muscular enzymatic activity of superoxide dismutase and serum leptine in wistar rats. Materials & Methods: 32 Wistar rats, randomly divided into 4groups (control, training, training +zinc and zinc). The training protocol consisted of running on treadmill for 8 weeks (5day/week). In the zinc supplement groups, 227 mg of zinc sulfate were used per liter of water and was freely available for the rats. Then, 48 hours after the last exercise session, blood and tissue samples were collected and the concentration of leptin hormone was measured by ELISA method and the amount of enzyme activity of super-oxide dismutase in the muscle was measured by spectrophotometric method. Data were analyzed using one-wayANOVA and and Pearson Correlation test. Results: The results showed that after 8 weeks of exercise training with zinc supplementation there was no significant difference in muscular enzymatic activity of superoxide dismutase Between groups(P> 0.05). but, serum leptin levels and weight change in the zinc supplementation group and exercise with zinc supplementation group were significantly lower than control group(P <0.05). in the control group and exercise training group, there was inverse correlation between serum leptin and muscular enzymatic activity of superoxide dismutase(P> 0.05) Discussion and conclusion: Considering the results, it can be said zinc supplementation could be used to weight control, reduce leptin and reverse the correlation between serum leptin and Muscular Enzymatic activity of superoxide dismutase.

EFFECT OF 8 WEEKS OF INCREMENTAL ENDURANCE TRAINING ON THE ACTIVITY OF SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE ENZYME AND MALONDIALDEHYDE LEVELS OF CARDIAC TISSUE OF RATS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES

Background: Diabetes and its oxidative stress increase the effects of this disease on heart tissue. On the other hand, exercise improves the antioxidant status of heart tissue. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of increased endurance training on superoxide dismutase activity and malondialdehyde levels in the heart tissue of mice with type 2 diabetes. Methods: In th...
